In 2005 I was commissioned to create an initial concept for a sports car ‘talon’ that some businessmen in Melbourne were putting together (image1). I experimented with a few drawing techniques around that time and worked up a rendering style in pencil that I still quite like.
I’ve also designed and built some joinery both by hand and with the CNC machine, most notably my bed in 2006 which features two deep A0 plan drawers that open both ways on custom runners.
The plane-like object is a play toy that I designed for children. It is equivalent to a rubber duck, except that when you push it through the water it will glide along on its three hydrofoils. It will be built from female-moulded carbon fibre. The angluar ply form is a projector box, built for the UQ summer exhibition and our graduate exhibition by CNC.
